DAY 3:
Colonial Curse - (Primary Sources)

In both media and literature associated with the Salem Witch Trials, witchcraft is depicted as inherently foreign or other. Much of the "evidence" displayed in testimony and reinterpretation has been connected with Voodoo practices - when in reality, those traditions often have European colonial roots.

Students will explore objects associated with witchcraft, engaging in primary source analysis and determining their origins. The lesson also covers key vocabulary and requires students to incorporate those new words in their cumulative written responses.
